Privacy policy

1. Who provides the service

IvPlayer is a multi-platform media player provided by an individual developer. This policy describes how the client apps (Windows, Android phone, Android TV, web, LG TV and Samsung TV) and the license and playback helper service (https://license.ivplayer.tr) process data.

2. What the app does

IvPlayer is free to download. Each install starts with a 7-day free trial. After that, the user buys a 1-year or lifetime IvPlayer software license on ivplayer.tr using the 12-character device code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) shown in the app. The license is bound to that device ID (no MAC address is used). The user then adds their own playlist (M3U URL or file). IvPlayer does not provide any TV channels, playlists or media content.

The license is bought through the payment flow on this website, not through an in-app or in-store purchase. "Lifetime" refers to the IvPlayer software license only and does not cover access to any third-party content.

IvPlayer does not own or broadcast any stream content; it is a media player that plays M3U / playlist sources the user is authorized to use.

3. Data processed and why

3.1 Device ID

The app keeps a persistent ID on the device or in the browser. Where the platform provides one, the native device ID is used (on Samsung TVs, the DUID); otherwise a random ID is generated. Purposes: binding the license and the free trial to a limited number of devices, preventing use beyond that limit, and the activate / validate / deactivate / claim requests. The ID is stored locally and sent to the server with these license requests.

3.2 Device label

On activation a short device label (e.g. model name, browser / platform label) may be sent to the server, so activations can be told apart in the admin panel.

3.3 Device code and license token

When a license is bought, the 12-character device code is sent to the server with the order. On launch the app looks up its license by device ID (claim). After a successful binding, a license token and a summary (plan name, expiry, playlist address if any) are stored on the device or in the browser. The token is sent with validation and deactivation requests. The admin panel can also hold predefined license codes; these are not part of the user purchase screen.

3.4 Playlist and channel data (local)

The playlist source, channel list, favorites, watch history and settings may be kept on the device or in the browser (localStorage / IndexedDB / sessionStorage where needed). Favorites, history and settings are not sent to the license API.

3.5 Stream proxy

Mainly because of Smart TV network restrictions, playlist downloads and playback requests may be routed through https://license.ivplayer.tr/v1/stream-proxy. The web client may use the same helper when needed. In that case the target playlist or stream URL (including any access parameters in the URL) is passed to this server as a query parameter and the server relays the content. The proxy is not used for advertising or analytics, and the app does not write this URL to a file. Access logging is turned off for /v1/stream-proxy on the reverse proxy (nginx), so the query string (?url=, which may contain credentials) is not written to the access log.

3.6 Order and payment records

When a license is bought on the website, the server may keep the order number, device code, selected plan, amount, currency, payment status, payment reference, license status and timestamps. The e-mail address required by the payment provider may be stored with the order. Card details are not stored by IvPlayer. Payments are processed by PayTR, and card data is handled by the payment provider.

4. What we do not do

5. License server

https://license.ivplayer.tr is IvPlayer's own license, order and (where needed) stream-proxy service. The server typically holds the device ID / device code, an optional device label, the license token, the license binding time, order number, plan, payment status, payment reference, admin-defined license codes and an optional playlist URL. A playlist URL may contain access credentials for your stream panel. Card details are not stored by IvPlayer.

Stream and CDN addresses may belong to the provider of your M3U / playlist source; their own privacy practices apply separately.

6. Local storage

Main data that may be kept on the device or in the browser: device ID, license summary (token and playlist address), playlist / channel cache, favorites, history, settings and short-lived recovery state (sessionStorage). In a browser, storage is tied to the site origin (ivplayer.tr etc.).

7. Retention

On the device or in the browser: data may be deleted when the app is uninstalled, its data is cleared, or the browser's site data is cleared. "Remove license" in Settings deletes the matching activation record on the server and the local license summary (and the recently played list); the device ID, playlist cache, favorites and history may remain.

On the server: license codes and activation records are kept to operate the service. Expired or revoked records can be removed by the administrator. No fixed automatic deletion period is defined.

8. Security

In production, license requests use HTTPS. The stream proxy includes checks intended to block forwarding to private / local network addresses. No measure provides absolute security.

9. Your rights

Under applicable data protection law (including Turkey's KVKK and, where it applies, the EU GDPR) you may ask whether your data is processed, request information, and request correction or deletion by writing to destek@ivplayer.tr. You can end the license session on your device or browser at any time with Remove license in the app's Settings.

10. Children

IvPlayer is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Parents or legal guardians should supervise the suitability of live / VOD content. Adult categories can be locked with a PIN in the app.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated (including for new platforms). The current text is always at https://ivplayer.tr/privacy-en.html. If the English and Turkish versions differ, the Turkish version prevails.
